2019 Subaru Impreza in Durham - Chapel Hill

It's Not Hard to See Why the 2019 Subaru Impreza is Such a Popular Compact Car in Durham

Since the Subaru Impreza was completely redesigned for the 2017 model-year, more recent models cruise in with very little changes--the only differences we saw last year were new automatic wipers on select models, and for 2019, changes are about as minimal: safety suite options are expanded, and the STARLINK system sees some basic updates. The next major refresh we can see for the Impreza won't be until 2020. Trim levels for both sedan and hatchback configurations include the new Impreza 2.0i, 2.0i Premium, 2.0i Sport, and the 2.0i Limited.

A Clean and Comfortable Interior

The new 2019 Impreza features a premium cloth upholstery, a driver-attentive layout, plenty of legroom for all four or five passengers, and an impressive list of standard features including a touchscreen display and rearview camera. Opt for the popular hatchback model, and the Impreza delivers up to 52.4 cubic feet of space, which is on par with some smaller SUVs; but, even the Impreza sedan gives you a practical 12.3 cubic feet of trunk space. Interior comfort is improved with a sound-reducing windshield on Premium trims and above, while available heated front seats, leather upholstery, and upgraded audio round out the experience.

Classic Subaru Styling

You won't have to look twice to know that this is a Subaru: from the iconic grille to clean lines and rounded corners, the 2019 Subaru Impreza is all class. Most models offer roof rails and alloy wheels standard for a sporty look, while an available package adds a broad power sunroof to open your cabin up to some nature in your daily drive. The 2019 Impreza 2.0i Sport is the most visually different in the lineup, and stands out with trim-specific exterior features like body-color rocker spoilers, a rear trunk lid spoiler, and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Practical Engine Power and AWD Capability

The 2019 Impreza is not the most powerful car in its class, but it's perfect for the average Durham or Raleigh commuter. A standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine makes 152 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque, and pairs to a smooth CVT on most models to optimize fuel economy; a manual transmission is standard on the 2.0i base and Sport model. Standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive is naturally included on every model. The Impreza 2.0i Sport (which is the only way you can get a manual Impreza with leather) also adds active torque vectoring for further-improved traction.

New Technology, Smart Safety

The 2019 Impreza gives you STARLINK infotainment and a touchscreen display standard on every model, even the base sedan. Entry-level models use a 6.5-inch screen that's as easy on the eyes as it is on your fingers, while upper-level models upgrade to a tablet-like 8-inch touchscreen for added convenience and just a dash of premium luxury. Subaru EyeSight is now available even on the base model, and adds adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic braking, and lane departure warning and mitigation. The top-of-the-line Limited trim includes EyeSight standard and includes reverse automatic braking and automatic high beams.
