This week for Performance Subaru’s FYI Friday, we take a look at the origination of the Subaru logo. The Subaru logo was designed from the Pleiades star cluster of the Taurus constellation[1]. The cluster can be seen by the naked eye in the night sky. Pleiades consists of six extremely hot, blue stars that are clustered together, which is where the six stars in the Subaru logo come from[2]. The dark blue background is meant to represent the night sky[3]. The stars are meant to represent Fuji Heavy Industries, as well, with Fuji Heavy Industries being the largest star and the other five stars represent the companies that joined together to form Fuji Heavy Industries[4]. Those companies are the automobile division, the aerospace division, the Subaru Industrial Power Products division, the eco technology division, and the buses & railroad cars division[5].
