“Buy American” may be something you’ve heard in your lifetime, but what does that really mean? Does it mean to buy a car that’s got an American founder, one that was started in the U.S., or a car that is literally made in the United States? It’s easy to think the latter, that an “American” car is one built in the U.S. Did you know that Subaru manufactures some of their lineup in Indiana? Subaru has an environmentally friendly manufacturing plant in Lafayette, Indiana[1] that produces more than 380,000 vehicles annually[2]. The plant makes the all-new Subaru Impreza, the classic Subaru Legacy, and the beloved Subaru Outback[3]. Subaru has created over 3,900 jobs for Americans at their Lafayette, Indiana plant[4].
