July is National Ice Cream Month. The amount of flavors is endless. But where did it come from? Well the delicious cold treat doesn’t have an exact inventor. Ice cream can be traced back to 3000 B.C., when ice was just flavored. The ice cream we know and love today is said to have come out of Italy in the 17th Century. Marco Polo supposedly introduced it to the country after a trip to the Far East, and from there it spread into Europe. The first official account of the frozen goodness in the United States (which we weren’t at the time,) was in 1744 in Maryland. As time and technology advanced, the ability to keep and make ice cream increased. Today, according to the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA), the average American consumes about 22 pounds of ice cream per year. That’s a lot of ice cream. With such a large amount of ice cream consumed, the amount of spills and accidents inside a car is also high. This can get really sticky if you don’t clean it well. Here at Performance Subaru, we have a high quality detail department that can make sure the little mess doesn’t ruin the value of your car.
