Power.
The high-performance turbocharged 265-hp Subaru Impreza WRX and the out-of-this-world turbocharged 305-hp WRX STI are both equipped with a Subaru Boxer engine.

The Subaru Active Valve Control System (AVCS) on the WRX and the Dual Active Valve Control System (DAVCS) on the STI adjust valve timing to match engine rpm to help create optimal response at any speed

The WRX comes with a fully synchronized 5-speed manual transmission with Incline Start Assist. The STI has a quick-shifting close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission that delivers formidable acceleration on the road or at the track.

Exclusive to the STI, the innovative SI-DRIVE allows you to tailor the way the engine behaves--from smooth and efficient to completely unrestrained. This system allows you to choose from three distinct modes of vehicle performance characteristics.

The STI's Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD) All-Wheel Drive enables you to define how the Subaru AWD system distributes power. It uses an electronically managed multi-plate transfer clutch and a mechanical limited-slip differential in conjunction with a planetary gear-type center differential to control power distribution between the rear wheels.

The WRX features a sport-tuned 4-wheel fully independent suspension with front and rear stabilizer bars for exceptional agility and handling. The STI takes it up a level with a high-performance sport-tuned suspension with inverted struts and aluminum-alloy lower L-arms to maul corners into submission.

The WRX comes with advanced braking technology like Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Antilock Brake System (ABS) and Brake Assist. On the STI, Brembo 4-piston front and 2-piston rear brakes with Super Sport ABS help keep a secure leash on the STI's power and acceleration.

Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) will help keep you in control. Sensors constantly monitor wheel speed, steering angle, brake pressure, vehicle yaw rate and lateral g-forces. On the STI, the system has three modes: Standard, Off and Performance-oriented Traction.

Even if the roads are wet, snowy or icy, you can drive your WRX with confidence. The balance of the Subaru Boxer engine combined with road-gripping Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive maximizes your control of the vehicle in all weather conditions.

Exterior Features.
Spoiler alert. Check out the designs of the WRX and the WRX STI. You'll have more spoilers, scoops, quad outlet exhaust and flared fenders than you'll know what to do with. Plus, the STI is now available in a 40door. It's aggressive styling that's a step ahead of the game.

Interior Features.
Settle into the performance-design front seats with fixed integration head restraints and you'll be ready when the g-forces hit. Available leather-trimmed upholstery adds a touch of luxury. You and your front passenger wil be able to cruise in comfort with a 6-way manually adjustable driver's seat and a 4-way manually adjustable front-passenger's seat.

In the cockpit, you'll see that every detail connects you to your car. Electroluminescent gauges quickly deliver information. A leather-wrapped steering wheel puts available audio and cruise control buttons at your fingers. An automatic climate control system with CFC-free air conditioning keeps you cozy while making tracks.

The 4-door WRX has 11.3 cubic feet of space. The 5-door offers up to 19.0 cubic feet of space with both rear seats in use. With both seats folder, you have access to the maximum 44.4 cubic feet of cargo capacity.

There's a cup holder for every passenger--and then some. Every door panel has a bottle holder and the center console has two cup holders. The center console also includes a storage tray and the illuminated glove box can be locked.

Electronics and Audio
A 6-speaker audio system with single-disc in-dash is ready to blast. Every WRX comes standard with an auxiliary input jack and can be equipped with SIRIUS or XM Satellite Radio.

Everything happens quickly. The CD player has MP3/WMA playback, iPod control, Bluetooth wireless phone and audio streaming capabilities. Your music, your phone, your life, all available in record time.

Safety and Reliability
The unique Subaru Boxer engine produces power with less vibration than other designs and that can help increase its reliability--one reason why 95% of the vehicles we've built in the last 10 years are still on the road today.

The instant an accident is detected, an array of sensors will deploy one or more of six airbags to help cushion the impact. The WRX and WRX STI include front, front-side and side-curtain airbags to surround outboard occupants and help prevent injuries in the even of a crash.

Each Subaru WRX and WRX STI comes with a 3-year/36,000-miles warranty that includes repairing worn brake pads, wiper blades, clutch linings and transmitter batteries. And the power train is covered for five years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Subaru Added Security extended service agreements and maintenance plans can cover your vehicle for up to seven years or 100,000 miles.

Properly inflated tires are critical to proper steering, braking and fuel economy. They also last longer and have fewer blowouts. The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) monitors the pressure levels of all four tires and alerts the driver to tire pressures that fall outside of the correct range.
